DRC Sends Budget Memo to Treasury & Policy Board

The DRC has sent a budget memo to Premier Houston’s Treasury & Policy Board

The Disability Rights Coalition has made a submission to the Province’s Budget-creating Treasury & Policy Board about the upcoming Provincial Budget in which the DRC made clear that unless social assistance for ‘disability supports’ is adequately funded, the Province will continue violating the rights of persons with disabilities by ignoring their right to assistance upon being found eligible for assistance.  “This Budget must end the arbitrary cap on social assistance spending which denies people assistance that they Province is legal obliged to provide.
